This Saturday marks the 6th time I’ve been honored as a Rosebud Film and Video Festival Nominee. Season 2 “Next To Heaven: Winner” will be screened at 5:15 pm at Dome Theatre at Artisphere, Arlington, VA. The showcase includes 18 other films and runs from 2 pm to 6:30.
Rosebud is an annual competition open exclusively to DC, Maryland, and Virginia film and video producers. The festival seeks to honor the innovative, experimental, unusual, and deeply personal in creative film and video making.
To commemorate the milestone and to attempt to add a few attendees to Saturday’s screening, I’m re-posting the three Next To Heaven films that have won the Rosebud Award. First up, 2007’s winner – “Next To Heaven: The Tapes of My Father.”
Suicide. Unrequited love. Deception. Obsession. The end of the Earth, and dispersion of the Universe. So ends Season 2 of Next To Heaven . . . Enjoy!
Thanks to everybody who worked on Yellow Socks: Producer/Sound – Tom Mallan; Actors – Ian Armstrong and Victoria F. Gaitán; Cinematographer – Paris Bustillos; Make-Up Artist – Vanessa Strickland; Music – Belinda Holmes and The Plums. Also, big thanks to the Bowerman/Wall/David Family for allowing us to shoot on their lovely riverside compound. In particular thanks to Richard Wall for the use of his beautifully restored 1960 Buick Invicta.
This episode goes out to my friend Adrian Parsons. Adrian has been active in the DC Occupy movement and is currently conducting a hunger strike to draw attention to the lack of DC voting rights. Good luck and thanks for standing up for what’s right Adrian!
Episode 100! Recursive and Meta . . .
ARE YOU READY FOR THE APOCALYPSE!? This video won’t help, but watch it anyway to see one of the worst marionettes ever.
Ok, sure, first you kill them . . . but what happens to them after that? Here’s one theory. And, Happy Thanksgiving everybody!
Toaster pastries, drugs, Brad Pitt, antique cars in Technicolor, and three-way sex . . . yep, time for a new Next To Heaven.
